Bill McFarlin, Jr.
Bill E. McFarlin Jr., 62, of Montclair, Calif., and formerly of Williston, passed away peacefully in his sleep in his childhood home Saturday morning, June 21, 2014. Bill was in Williston to attend his father’s funeral.
Bill’s memorial service will be co-celebrated with his father’s funeral service, which is scheduled at 2 p.m. Monday, June 23, at Life Church Assembly of God in Williston. Pastor Erin Youngs will officiate. Following the service, Bill Jr.’s cremated remains will be interred with his father in the Hillside Memory Gardens Cemetery in Williston.
Bill McFarlin Jr. was born in Williston on May 8, 1952, to Bill and Donna (Aboud) McFarlin. He was raised and educated in Williston, graduating from Williston High School in 1970.
Bill Jr. followed in his father’s footsteps with his love of music. He became an accomplished pianist and clarinetist. He shared his knowledge and his love of music by teaching music at Trenton and Ray High Schools. In recent years, Bill moved to California where he continued to share his love of music by teaching piano, violin and clarinet lessons.
Bill enjoyed being a part of the Williston Municipal Band, Bicentennial Celebration and jazz bands with his dad. He also enjoyed tae kwon do, and he loved to make people laugh with his many jokes.
Bill was a fun loving and caring son, brother, uncle and friend.
Surviving Bill Jr. are his brother, Dick and Carmen McFarlin of Williston and their children, Jamie Peterson of Billings, Mont., and her children, Saige and Annika and Cameron and Brook McFarlin of Williston; brother, Don and Yvonne McFarlin of Gillette,Wyo., and his children, Lindsey and Matt Colton of Golden Valley and her children, Samuel, Emma and Avery; Nick and Kelsi McFarlin of Casper, Wyo., and their children, Evan and Keyan; Courtney and Drew Henry of Glasgow Mont., and their daughter, Arrow; and sister, Jan McFarlin of Williston.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Bob.
