Lila Heller (Tirey)

Lila Kay (Heller) Tirey, 51, went to be with the Lord Wednesday evening, May 15, 2002, after a courageous battle with cancer. Lila was a longtime Williston, North Dakota resident who moved to Edmond, Oklahoma in 1991.

Her funeral service will be Tuesday afternoon, May 21, 2002, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Williston, ND at 2:00 PM. Rev. L. Jay Reinke will officiate and burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Williston, North Dakota.

Lila Kay was born April 3, 1951 to Glen O. and Jeannine (Raulston) Heller in Williston, ND. She was raised and educated in Williston and graduated from Williston High School. She married Craig G. Tirey on November 29, 1980 in Williston. They made their home in Williston, ND before moving to Edmond, OK in 1991.

Lila was a mother and homemaker foremost, but also helped her husband in the family business. She was very talented and creative with arts and crafts and enjoyed making and collecting dolls. She loved to macramé and restore antique furniture. Another of her passions was flowers; she truly enjoyed working in the yard planting and taking care of them. Lila believed in giving of herself by volunteering her time and abilities to various causes.

Lila is survived by her husband, Craig of Edmond, OK; son, Ryan A. Heller and his wife, Katie, of Williston, ND; daughter, Elizabeth A. Tirey of Edmond, OK; grandson, Cole Michael Heller of Williston; her father, Glen and his wife, Maxine, of Williston; her brothers and sisters, Lyle Heller and his fiancée, Leone, of Williston; Charlene Jenson and her husband, Lynn, of Fargo, ND, Karen Bean and her husband, Lowell, Glenda Vennes and her husband, Jerry, and Myron Heller, all of Williston; step-brother, Bob Fladmo of Glendive, MT; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jeannine. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation and gratitude to: Dr. Michael J. Keefer and his staff along with all of the other doctors and nurses for their efforts; Hospice Center staff, especially Barbara (Bobbie) Lindsey and Susie Clark for all their kindness and compassion in taking care of Lila; and to all her friends for all their help and support throughout this ordeal. Lila was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, wife, daughter and sister who truly loved her family. We will always love you and miss you. You will be in our hearts forever and we all take comfort that we know you are in heaven, your pain and suffering are over, and that we will be together again one day. Friends may call at the Everson Funeral Home of Williston, North Dakota Mon. from 9:00 AM until 7:00 PM, Tues. from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
