Met Bill and his wife in Minneapolis in the late 70's.  Considered him my best friend in grade school.

Ran into Bill in the early seventies in the Twin Cities when he, John Knollenberg and few others were renting a big house on Chicago Avenue, just a few blocks north of Lake Street.  Bill loved the practical joke.

One time I rode along with he and his current girlfriend at the time, to another apartment where he introduced me to a tall attractive black girl with wide shoulders named Patra.  A few minutes later, Bill and his girlfriend left for a while.

While looking out the apartment window, Patra said a guy she didn't like was coming up to see and she needed to get rid of him. She suggested I introduce myself to the guy as her fiance.  After discovering our plans, the guy congratulated us and took off.

On the ride back to Chicago Avenue, Bill asked me what I thought of Patra.  After telling him the story about playing the part of Patra's fiance and that I thought she was real nice looking.

Bill looked at me with his wide grin and said,"Patra is a guy!"
